This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on this website when you look at rooms and make a booking with Citygate.
We only use what the booking process needs, plus analytics you can decline.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cannot be switched off, because the site cannot take a booking without them. They are not used to track you and carry no advertising.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid |
Stripe | Fraud prevention on the payment step. Set only when you reach payment. | 1 year |
__stripe_sid |
Stripe | Fraud prevention within a single payment session. | 30 minutes |
Card details are entered directly into Stripe's own secure form. They never reach this website or the hotel, so no cookie here holds any part of your card number.
Similar technologies we use instead of cookies
Your booking in progress — the dates, room, rate and any extras you have chosen — is kept in your browser's session storage rather than in a cookie, under booking-draft and booking-confirmation. It is never sent to a third party and it is deleted when you close the tab. This is what lets you go back a step without losing your choices.
Analytics cookies — off unless you say yes
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, so we can improve it. These cookies are denied by default: nothing is set until you accept them in the cookie banner.
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics | Distinguishes one visitor from another | 2 years |
_ga_… |
Google Analytics | Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
cookie_consent |
Citygate | Remembers whether you accepted or declined, so you are not asked again | 180 days |
We use Google Consent Mode: analytics storage is set to denied before the Google script loads, and only flipped to granted if you accept.
Changing your mind
Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page to change your choice at any time. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings — the site will then ask you again on your next visit.
